How we handle your details
Last updated 8 October 2026
This is how Ink Behind Bars deals with personal data. In short: we only ask for what we need to answer your booking, we do not track you, and we do not sell or share your details for advertising.
Who is responsible
Ink Behind Bars, run from the Be Inked studio, Sont 40, 8226 AH Lelystad, the Netherlands.
Email: info@inkbehindbars.com · Phone: 06 209 397 15
What we collect and why
The booking form. When you open a file with us we receive what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, preferred artist, style, preferred date, your idea (placement and description) and, if you attach one, a reference image. We use this to answer your request, plan the intake and, if you go ahead, your session. This is needed to take steps at your request before an appointment. We ask for your date of birth because the law requires us to check your age before we can tattoo you.
Spam protection. To stop automated abuse of the form we briefly keep a technical record of your IP address and the time of your request. These records are deleted automatically within a day.
Photos of our work. The portfolio shows photos of finished tattoos, flash designs and artwork. A photo can show part of a client's body. If you are in a photo and want it removed, tell us and we remove it.
We do not run accounts for visitors, newsletters, advertising or analytics, and the public site sets no cookies. The only cookies on this website are the sign-in cookies the studio uses to manage the portfolio.
Who receives your details
We use a few services to run the website. They only process data for us:
- TransIP(the Netherlands) delivers the email with your booking to the studio's mailbox. Your booking is not stored in a database on the website.
- Vercel hosts the website and stores the portfolio photos. Vercel is a US company and works with EU data-protection safeguards.
- Neon hosts the portfolio database (published pieces and short-lived technical records). No booking details are stored there.
- An AI service (DeepSeek) may be used by the studio to help write the descriptions of portfolio photos. Only the photo is sent, never booking details or anything you type into the form.
We never sell your details and we only share them with the services above or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep booking emails for up to two years after your last appointment, or longer where the law requires it. Portfolio photos stay on the website until we take them down.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the details we hold about you, correct them, delete them, restrict their use, or hand them over to you. You can also object to how we use them. Send us an email and we answer within a month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security and changes
The site only runs over a secure connection, and only the studio can sign in to manage the portfolio. If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date above.
