Chrysanthemum and Rhinoceros Beetle Black and Grey

A large chrysanthemum bloom spreads its layered petals above a rhinoceros beetle, with curling leaves flowing down through the stem. The whole design is drawn in soft black and grey shading, giving the flower and insect a smooth, sculpted depth. It works as a single flowing piece with a Japanese-inspired floral feel.
